E.N.G.A.G.E. is a program through Potters Computer Center, a non-profit organization that in Columbia, South Carolina.

The goals of E.N.G.A.G.E. is to enhance the performance and success of students who have been identified as educational and/or economically "at risk" or non-motivated. In addition, those students who perform well in the classroom but are looking for career options and guidance will be focal points of the E.N.G.A.G.E. experience. The program actively involves students in hands-on, real-world learning experiences. The objectives through interactive, hands-on learning through E.N.G.A.G.E. will:

  • Overcome the perception that the study of science, technology, engineering, and information technology can be difficult and sometimes boring
  • Become more interested, knowledgeable, and skilled in these content areas
  • Become aware of the need to set personal goals to achieve success
  • Understand the importance and advantage of working collaboratively with others to solve problems
  • Realize the negative effects of substance abuse and their negative results
  • Recognize the importance of education
  • Be more equipped with a better understanding of their career options to pursuing in the sciences and technology fields
  • Stimulate an interest in the information technology trades and engineering fields, which are essential to the workforce of the future
  • Provide a strong positive alternative to involvement with gangs
  • Establish stronger relationships with educators, community leaders, parents, and policy makers
  • Ignite student interest in science, technology, engineering and information technology and increase knowledge and skill in these areas
  • Develop teamwork skills and provide real world, problem-solving activities to practice these skills
  • Demonstrate the relevance and use of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, teamwork and personal goal setting in the workplace
  • Illustrate personal goal-setting skills and encourage students to identify actions they can initiate to achieve these personal goals
